Delegation from Six Countries Visits Gan & Lee to Exchange Views on Chronic Disease Prevention and Control
Date:2026-08-12

On August 7, 2026, Gan & Lee Pharmaceuticals (stock code: 603087.SH) welcomed a delegation from the Training Course on Technologies and Policies of Non-communicable Diseases Prevention and Control for Belt and Road Countries. The training program was organized by an exchange institution affiliated with the National Health Commission of the PRC.

The 24-member delegation—comprising representatives from Jordan, Rwanda, Benin, Nigeria, Mauritania, and the Solomon Islands—included health-system officials, senior medical staff, research experts, and scholars specializing in metabolic diseases. The itinerary featured in-depth study tours and discussions on the standardized prevention, treatment, and management of chronic diseases.

Chronic metabolic diseases, such as diabetes, have become a major global public health challenge. Due to variations in geography, population demographics, healthcare systems, and medical resource allocation, countries have developed distinct approaches to chronic disease screening, clinical management, and public-health administration. This exchange sought to bridge communication gaps in international chronic disease control, facilitate the exchange of clinical management experiences, and strengthen national capabilities in integrated diagnosis, treatment, and preventive care.

The program combined on-site visits with a thematic symposium, enabling in-depth dialogue on key issues including national pain points and challenges in chronic disease prevention and control, public-health intervention mechanisms, and expanded access to primary care.

During the exchange, delegates from Benin, Rwanda, Mauritania, and other countries pointed out that the prevalence of chronic diseases, including diabetes and cancer, is rising annually across Africa. Key challenges include limited primary care screening capabilities, inadequate supplies of standardized therapeutic medications, underdeveloped long-term care management frameworks, and limited access to healthcare. The delegates highlighted the great reference value of China's mature experience in systematic chronic disease diagnosis and treatment, standardized pharmaceutical manufacturing, and clinical practice. They expressed hope for deeper technical exchanges and resource collaboration, as well as the introduction of high-quality chronic disease therapies and management models to support upgrades to primary chronic disease care systems.

"This training program has built an efficient platform for mutual learning, technical exchanges and experience sharing, as well as mutually beneficial cooperation on chronic disease management between China and other countries," said Liu Gai, the head of Gan & Lee's International Department. Advancing international exchanges and cooperation on metabolic chronic illnesses like diabetes has become a consistent, regular strategic priority for the company.

As one of China's first companies to achieve the industrial-scale production of recombinant insulin analogues, Gan & Lee has a responsibility to leverage its industry strengths, continuously build exchange platforms, and share practical experience with countries worldwide.

In recent years, Gan & Lee has continued to advance its globalization strategy and deepen professional industrial exchanges and cooperation with countries around the world. As a representative Chinese pharmaceutical company, it has repeatedly hosted study tour delegations from Belt and Road countries and other global industry organizations, sharing China's experience in chronic disease management. The company has also actively participated in industry events such as multinational academic conferences on diabetes, expanding its international cooperation footprint.

The visit of this multinational delegation marks both a key tangible contribution made by Gan & Lee to health cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative and a full showcase of the company's innovations in chronic disease management, standardized manufacturing capacity and global service capabilities. Moving ahead, the company will further deepen international healthcare exchanges and collaboration, honor its responsibilities and commitments as a Chinese pharmaceutical enterprise, and advance the development of global chronic disease prevention and control systems as well as global public health programs.
